Apologies: None

The song we will choose to create a music video for.
We decided after some discussion that the song we would create a music video for is 'Example - Last Ones Standing (Dr P remix)'.

Music video ideas for this song.
Due to the genre of the music, we think that the music video should be fast paced taking ideas from the thriller genre cinematography conventions  such as quick cuts and various action based camera angles. In order to create a fast paced music video we will use chase scenes (like free running) and fight scenes (fast paced taken from thriller genre and add action within the music video).

Roles within creating the music video.
Tom Oswell- Main Actor/ Main Editing
James Edwards- Actor/Editing
Harry Lawton-Jones- Actor /main camera man
Tom Hyman- Director/ Actor

Estimated production time.
3 weeks

Estimated Production costs.
£600 (roughly under £1,000) due to low budget based video.

Locations which could be used (within the area)
Wem Recreation ground, the White Lion Car park, different ally ways around Wem, Co-op carpark, Wem highstreet.

Equipment.
Camera with Charger and battery pack, Tripod, Tape, Laptop, Final Cut

Contingency Plans
If a piece of the equipment broke we would all provide funds to replace the equipment

Agenda

  • Get the last shots for the music video
  • Equipment
  • Risk assessment
  • Editing
  • Final Editing, Making sure everything is correctly timed.

Minutes. 18 March 2011.

So we have finished filming what was need and now edited but we need to make sure all the cuts are well timed and everything looks like it was not just a last minute job and looks like we took time and effort to do what we needed to do what was necessary. We have all the equipment with us presently and we have enough time to do what we need to do before the deadline.
The last thing we need to do now, is to add all the effects we need for our music video and the cutscenes are timed well with the beat of the song.

Aob 1 Production Plan & Schedule

Working title: Example: last man standing.

We are going to recreate the video of last man standing but with our own ideas which is typical to this genre of the music. This product will be a free running base video. They will be jumping off walls climbing and sprinting, there will be fight scenes since the song is about the last man standing so  these are some of the general characteristics of this type of genre, and these characteristics will attract and appeal to the  target audience. A big characteristic we need to include in this type if video is the make sure the cuts in the scenes are exactly to the beat or the target audience will notice this and wont be as intrigued  as if it did have the correct cuts.

Roles assigned:
Tom Oswell- Main Actor/ Main Editing The main role in the video was assigned to Tom because he can do some free running and he was willing to do it for our music video. He can also edit so this role was assigned to him becase he has done editing before and as the general idea of how to edit for our music video.

James Edwards- Actor/Editing Jim has a role as a actor because he was capable of doing what was need for the music video. Jims second role was to help tom edit the music video and do some editing by himself.

Harry Lawton-Jones- Actor /Main CameraMan The role of Camera man is assigned to harry because he wanted to be the camera man and he was able to different type of shots if necessary. Harry is also an actor because he was need for a apart in the video and did what he had to do for the video.

Tom Hyman- Director/ Actor The role of the director was assigned to Tom because he told the camera man which type of shots were need, got some of the actors to do what was necessary for the video, Tom was also and actor because he was part of the video.

The estimated time for our production and editing process will be around about 3 weeks.

The production cost would be £600 but this would include the cost of all the camera equipment and software which we already have.

The locations we have chosen to be in our video are around wem is the park, back of the white lion, different ally ways around wem. The editing computer sites will be in final cut.

Schedule:

Date: 28th February till the 11th March.
Time. Meetings 4th February, 7th March, 18th March
AOB3 Deadline 17th February
AOB4 Deadline 28th February-25th March
AOB5 Deadline 31st April

Our equipment required will be a camera and tripod. We won’t need sound recording equipment. Our video will be shot it day so we wont need lighting equipment. We will need editing equipment on the computer such as final cut.

Contingency plans: we will be working on Harry’s blog so we will all have his password for when he isn’t hear.  If a piece of the equipment broke we would all provide funds to replace the equipment. If the weather is wrong and not sunny for when we are filming our video we will adapt and tweak things so we can sort out a different method of how we are going to film. Because people could get injured form the free running in our video from the weather. E.g. icy conditions.

Treatment for ‘last one standing’ by 'Example' (Dr P remix)

The song is a dubstep remix that constantly build to a climax and then dips back into relativev calm.  The theme of the song to us fighting and action takes place in urban setting.

When the song begins and he first shot has a close up a Tom wrapping his knuckles up with athletic tape. We then see a series of C/U of toms preparation for what we believe Is a fight. When the music starts he sets off running out of his house and down the street, This will include a series of povs, tracking shots and mid shots of tom running toward the camera and a C/U cuts of feet hitting the floor and a passerby  getting bumped out of the way. He then makes his way to fight. He will be going down different alleyways to get to his fight. When tom gets to the train station he’ll be jumping up and down slightly as if he would be pumped up towards the fight. When his enemy comes off the train he will see tom and look scared, after he will run off the  platform of the train and run down a street. Tom will catch him up and the first fight will begin. The cuts and drops will be the different  camera angles changing and  punches and kicks will be also included in the drops.

Once this fight has finished and the beat slows down it will show starting to run to his next fight at the wreck.  This will consist of tracking shots, povs and tom running towards the camera jus like when he was running to his first fight. . Also when he running to the fight it is where the free running will start. Tom will be free running over benches fences and walls. Will be doing the jumps at east four or five times hanging the different angle shots such like, a mid shot of jumping over, just a sot of him in mid air jumping over, and jus a low angled shot of his feet lading.  We have locations around wem such as the wreck, back of black lion park and college/school do more junps. The second fight will then begin as the same as the first with the cuts and drops with camera angle and fighting.

The theme of free running and the fight and will then continue for another  sequence.
